My love of photography
I suppose that I discovered my love of photography around the same time as I solidified myself as a writer (www.jenniferchapin.net).
A mentor/ friend of mine in Old Greenwich, Connecticut took a look at some of the photos that I brought back from my travels into Tuscany, France, Peru, Morocco, Thailand, and told me that I had "the eye" and that I should broadcast my images to the world. Well, being slightly reticent at the time I withheld but then he pushed me once more and so in the year 2000 I self-published a book which was intended as gifts for my family and friends and had as its lead photo a picture of Ali Allah, a Tuareg guide in the Sahara on the border of Morocco and Algeria, with the caption underneath that read "Walking into the New Millennium". Which in the light of the events of September 11th that followed, seemed prophetic. It seemed especially prophetic for me as I was working in Manhattan at the time and this was one of the singular moments in history that altered me completely.
Anyway, I left the corporate world shortly thereafter and disappeared into France to write my first novel. My camera was ever at my side.
Now to my great surprise my pictures are starting to sell and so I thought it might be a good idea to create this site and share my vision of the world with you.
So, bear with me as this is a work in progress, and let the fun begin.
